About Us

A Home for African Culture, Education and Community in Sacramento

Our Mission

The Africa House is a nonprofit multicultural, community resources center.

The Center is dedicated to serving the needs and aspirations of her Africa Diaspora community as well as others through cultural education, economic development, family health and wellness, youth leadership and civic engagement and community service.

The Vision is to build a legacy for intergenerational growth and Africa/black cultural pride and sustainability.

Our Values

We believe in the strength of healthy families, the power of community empowerment, and the importance of cultural pride. Our work is rooted in Africentric principles, guided by inclusion and diversity, and inspired by Ubuntu, the belief in our shared humanity. We carry out our mission with transparency and collaboration at every step.

What We Do

Africa House Sacramento creates opportunities for growth, connection, and celebration. We provide educational resources, mentorship, and youth leadership programs. We support health and wellness through gatherings, workshops, and community healing. We bring people together through cultural celebrations, from milestones like weddings and naming ceremonies to festivals and community events. We also promote civic engagement, advocacy, and partnerships that amplify our community’s voice while building stronger connections between the United States, Africa, and the Caribbean.

Support Our Mission

Africa House Sacramento is more than a center. It is a community. We invite you to connect with us, attend our programs, and support our mission. Together we can build bridges, celebrate culture, and create a legacy of growth for generations to come.
